I am Sandra Underwood, a full-time, self-employed genealogist based in County Durham in the North East of England and have over 20 years' family history research experience.
I provide a full family history research service across the whole of the UK and specialise in County Durham, Northumberland & Scotland.
As well as being the official genealogist of Fentimans Ltd (www.Fentimans.com), I have featured in the 'Family Tree' Magazine and was also invited to write a guest blog for the 'My Heritage' website.
In 2016 I was commissioned to assist with the research into Cheryl's family history for "Who Do You Think You Are?" Other commissions have included the family history of world-renowned musician, Bryan Ferry; former Scottish First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon and US Politician and former First Lady, Hillary Clinton.
I am a weekly visitor to my local archive at Durham Records Office and a regular visitor to the Northumberland Archives at Woodhorn, the Tyne & Wear Archives Service (TWAS) in Newcastle upon Tyne and the Local Studies Library at Newcastle City Library. I also visit the Local LDS Family History Centres in Newton Aycliffe and Sunderland as well as the Family History Centres located in Gateshead, Newcastle upon Tyne & Durham Clayport Libraries and the North Yorkshire Records Office in Northallerton.
Please feel free to visit the 'Testimonials' page to see some of the feedback I have received from clients.
